Tuesday came and went for much of the world like any other day, but for Haiti it was a day unlike any other. The 7.0 earthquake hit a country that was already the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. Hundreds of thousands are speculated to be dead, with the count rising near 200,000 as an estimate from the Haitian government. Amidst such destruction and recklessness, it often seems like we are helpless. But as members of the richest nation in the West, America, and as elect members of the richest people on earth, Christians, we have many ways to respond.

GIVING BACK WHAT WE'VE BEEN BLESSED WITH

At Revealing Truth Ministries, we share the fundamental knowledge that God loves a cheerful giver. The Bible states, "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:7). However, we understand His grace was not meant to hoard for ourselves. In fact, everyone was called to share the gospel with thy neighbor and everyone around the world. Whether it is working with an adoption home, local schools, police and fire servicemen, or giving time and money to those in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, we have set a strong precedent for giving and serving in our community.

September 6th marked a new day in the life of Revealing Truth Ministries. Pastor Greg Powe made a decision to create more time for the family by moving from two services to one service on Sunday mornings.  His focus is to facilitate the process of strengthening families by teaching and applying the Word of God, so that we will begin to draw close and love one another as Christ loves the church.  We believe there is a need for strength, peace, victory and healing among individuals and families.
